Weekend plans

So this guy who sings tenor in our church choir is leaving after this Sunday. He has been bugging me forever to watch Donnie Darko. My plan is to watch it, maybe tonight, so I can say I did. There are two versions of the movie--regular and director's cut. Any suggestions which one I should rent?

Then if there is time, I want to go see something this weekend--American Dreamz, Akeelah and the Bee, Stick It or Take the Lead. Has anyone seen any of these?

For you Lyn you don't need to watch the director's cut of Donnie Darko. It's gonna freak you out enough as is. The director's cut has a few more scenes and bonus features, but I'd wait to see if you actually enjoyed this movie to watch the more graphic version. Trust me!

As for movies to see this weekend. Wait for Take the Lead and watch it on DVD...Antonio doesn't even really dance and that was the only reason I saw the movie. I'd suggest Stick It, but only if you are able to take Al. I think it looks great. Akeelah has gotten some pretty good buzz at the Tribeca Film Festival. Heard nothing about American Dreamz, but Mandy Moore and Hugh Grant. I wouldn't pass that up.

Oh no! What am I getting myself into? I asked if it was a horror movie and they all said it was not. Should I even see it? Grrrr...I thought it was not gross.

Sad news about Antonio not dancing. I will totally cross that one off. I guess American Dreamz is at the top of my list. Plus I missed Idol this week, so this could be my fix.

Saw nothing this weekend--not even Donnie Darko. They had the director's cut at Target for $10, but with Holly's recommendation, I didn't get it. Overall, had a fun weekend, though I didn't due too much in the way of media consumption. Food consumption on the other hand...
